It has been more than a month since I last wrote here. We had a tragic death in our immediate family that threw us all into a tailspin. In addition to that, we had minor dramas including a health issue for me - well, maybe not so minor but it didn't compare to the loss. The good news: I am back on track and looking forward to a new year filled with more writings and wonderful new adventures, including recording a new CD of my own and another trip out to Oregon to celebrate my 40th anniversary of friendship with my best friend. The tune I wrote the last time I was there will be on this upcoming CD. Who knows, maybe I'll write another one. The recording project will start this winter, so I am choosing songs and tunes, figuring out arrangements and putting some finishing touches on them. I will keep you posted on the progress as it goes along. Meanwhile, here is a photo of my kitchen in winter and a short poem I wrote the other night when sleep was eluding me.
The World in Winter (12/7/13) Winter … A time for relaxing; A time for remembering; A time for reflecting; A time for reveling and finally, a time for rejuvenating. The world sleeps when Cold comes carrying her blanket of white in her frosty fingers. The fire spreads his warm arms, embracing us in his life force and soothing our bodies.
